HELENA — The City of Helena will not be charging for downtown parking from Saturday through Christmas Day.

The City announced this week the parking division will not enforce parking Monday, December 23, Tuesday, December 24, and Christmas Day.

Weekends and evenings are always free.

The City said they’re happy to provide the free parking to help support downtown Helena and people who need to do some last minute shopping.

“The City wanted to offer some good will to downtown by being able to offer those two days of free parking,” said Rebecca Connors, City of Helena Public Information officer. “We really want to make sure that we’re giving back to our community and this is one way we’re able to do that.”

The City would also like to remind people if there is at least 2 inches of snow on the ground people need to remove their vehicles from designated emergency snow routes. Any vehicles that aren’t moved may be towed at the owner’s expense.

You can find more information about Helena’s snow codes on the city website .
